About the Artist
No, this isn't actually a picture of me, lol. I'm not very photogenic, but maybe I'll add an actual self-portrait later.
Hi, I am the artist and owner at Annyway Boutique. I love creating art and working on projects. Sometimes it takes me a while to actually finish a project, especially since I start so many, but at least that means I almost never have a shortage of projects to work on!
Why This Website?
I created this website mainly to get all of my work in one place. I have a Zazzle store, a few items on Redbubble (which I almost forgot about, lol), a rarely updated Facebook page, a few images on stock photo sites, etc. Secondly, I learned from watching Curious George (with my kids, not just by myself...) that no one will know what you have unless you "advertise". George gets tips from his friend, the self-proclaimed "Lemonade King" who has a popular lemonade stand and learns that, just like in the classic lemonade stand game, you've got to advertise so people will know what's out there.
I've enjoyed creating art for most of my life. I started out with coloring in coloring books for hours at a time and then went on to do a wide variety of arts and crafts activities throughout my childhood and teenage years. I've enjoyed doing photography and other art projects for 4-H. One of my clay creations (a small yet realistic version of a violin) won a blue ribbon at the local county fair and went on to win a blue ribbon at the State Fair. I've taken several art workshops and even a few art classes at the college level.
I use many different mediums, including digital art and photography, although photography is my favorite.
Bob Ross, of course!
My Grandma S. who taught me drawing and painting basics whenever she visited; she also frequently sent me envelopes filled with fabric swatches of various colors and textures. I looked forward to opening the envelopes!
My mom taught me everything she knew about art and provided me (and my siblings) with plenty of arts and crafts supplies. Our family frequently visited the local art museum while I was growing up. My favorite part was the free art print posters they gave out!
Everyday things I see and hear around me inspire my creations. My imagination adds to the creative process to "transform the ordinary into the extraordinary"
